Today, I’ll talk about the pros and cons of a garage gym. This is only from my personal experience. I haven’t had a garage gym for long. I’m still a novice at the whole garage gym thing, still learning and building it. Along the way, I have noticed some things I like about it and some things I don’t. But mainly, I do like it. Still, there are some pros and cons to having a garage gym.
Pros and Cons of a Garage Gym
No monthly gym membership fees
Work at your own pace and not have to worry about anyone else waiting on equipment
No one watching and judging you
Play your own music
Location is excellent, no driving anywhere
Workout alone (yes I have this as a pro as well, I realize this)
Trying to come up with programming (Thank goodness for Street Parking)
Not having encouragement from others
Too cold in winter
Some of us may have limited equipment and/or equipment, although I have seen some creative ways people make use of what they have.
Not having instruction for technique/form improvements or guidance
Those are the main pros and cons of a garage gym that come to mind right away. I am sure that as I continue to grow my garage gym, more things will come up about what I like and don’t like.
What about you? Are you a garage gym owner? What do you like and dislike about being a garage gym owner?
